This is the foundation where knowledge about ecological and social sustainability is shared. Education empowers individuals and communities with awareness and understanding. It supports and nurtures both engagement and evolution within the ecosystem.

Purpose: Build awareness and understanding of ecological and social sustainability.

Activities:

  • Schools Project Days: Interactive sessions tailored for different grades and departments with varying levels of intensity.
  • Talks and Discussions: Hosting expert talks, panels, and community discussions to deepen knowledge.
  • Awareness Events: Organizing campaigns, exhibitions, and outreach events to spread the message.

2. Engage

Engagement is where people actively participate in initiatives—whether by contributing skills, joining projects, or spreading awareness. Through engagement, individuals deepen their education and drive evolution by applying what they learn.

Purpose: Encourage active participation and involvement in the movement.

Activities:

  • Repurpose Pre-loved Clothing: Participate in repurposing used clothing to support sustainability and fundraising.
  • Train the Trainer Programs: Become a local Asrkari Ambassador by training others in sustainable practices.
  • Local Resource Person for Schools: Act as a community liaison for educational project days, helping coordinate and support school activities.

3. Evolve

Evolution reflects the growth and transformation that results from continuous education and engagement. As people and communities evolve, new ideas emerge, and the ecosystem adapts. This evolution fuels further education and engagement, completing the cycle.

Purpose: Foster growth, innovation, and adaptation in the ecosystem.

Activities:

  • Contribute to Solutions: Collaborate on technological innovations, conceptual frameworks, and implementation strategies.
  • Continuous Feedback Loop: Share insights and learnings to improve ongoing projects and develop new approaches.
  • Scaling Impact: Help replicate and scale successful initiatives within new communities and regions.

How a Flohmarkt Sparked a Movement ✨

When we set out to create solutions for fair and sustainable fashion, one tricky question kept showing up like a stubborn ketchup stain: “How do we fund it?”

Like any passionate grassroots project, money wasn't just a footnote—it was part of the main plot. But then something curious happened…

???? A wild idea appeared! What if the clothes themselves—those same garments that once symbolized exploitation—became tools for change? What if injustice could be turned into… well, fashionable justice?

We noticed the growing wave of second-hand clothing resale. Cool. Practical. But... not game-changing.
Then we thought: “Why just re-sell when we can repurpose?”

“Why stop at resale, when these very clothes could become ink to rewrite the story of our clothing?”

And just like that—a spark! ✨ In 2021, we ran a tiny pilot in Lüneburg, Germany.

That’s how REPURPOSE was born.
